Picturesque views, well appointed rooms, lots of potential for relaxation and varied activities make this hotel an ideal place to get away from it all.The best elements of this hotel still stack up for another stay.
Non existent service and lack of management accountability almost ruined our latest visit. When this is combined with a hotel that was over sold with budget guests( company trip) and under served with staff it was a recipe for disaster.
The ambiance of the Aana is incredible! Its like living in a luxury tree house. All the suites are circular, well appointed and elevated 5 m above the forest floor. Completely uniqueand certainly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Excellent value using Booked.net- 1800 baht/night (the hotel gave me a free room upgrade too) easily a 3000 baht+ hotel!
Slightly more expensive restaurant facilities, and fees for internet wifi...
Wonderful relaxing place to stay in a beautiful environment. Gorgeous beach close by. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely staff.
Only thing would be lack of storage space in the room.
I liked the location of the hotel, I.E. near the river and close to a quiet beach.
Service, unfriendly / unmotivated staff, poor (English) language skills and lack of trained staff, willing to host guests, no presence of the hotelmanagement, very basic breakfast, expensive WiFi etc etc. I will not go back and do not recommend this hotel at all.
It gives you a bounty feeling, there is no big luxury but it just the way we wanted it, we love the villa between the bananatrees. the river is a big plus. who wants more. this is it and for that amount. dont worry be happy.
The best is you rent a scooter, and than it makes the location even more better.
The design of the hotel is great. Very exotic, wooden walkways and palm trees overlooking the river. Decent rooms. Riverside location with free Booked.nets turned out to be a bonus; either paddle 5 mins to the hotels own beach or you can venture into the mangrove. Free firefly sunset boat trip. Overall great value ( paid £60 for standard room) despite many flaws.
300 bhat for 1 hour of Wifi is an insult to guests! If you rely on internet when travelling you should look elsewhere. Staffs' english capability limited, not very service minded and resort could overall need better management. Food at restaurant is to be avoided.
free Booked.net to the beach
no value for the price, hotel needs a renovation, sandflys at the beach, room was partly dirty
Cozy facilities, feeling of privacy, close to the nature and in general, combining location by river, nearby restaurants makes a very special place to stay.
The staff was very poorely trained, even 5 times cheaper reaturants on the beach had a much better service. The prices are obviously higher than reality. There is a spa nearby with very nice facilities, professional services, their prices are maybe 30-50% higher than on regular location, but even than it is still 2 times cheaper than in the hotel. Same applies to food.
Good friendly room service who were helpful over having a baby in the room sleeping at regular intervals.
A lot of the wooden walk ways and balconies, pool area decking are starting to rot due to lack of maintenance which meant people could easily injure themselves (in fact my wife did and had a fall). Wireless internet is extremely expensive. 200 Bhat for only 60 minutes of internet which was not that fast and often disconnected. As someone who needed to stay in contact with work this would stop me staying there again. 4 pounds for 60 minutes is more expensive then a hotel in London or New York.
The staff were very good. The only issue was there was building work going on in the resort, which meant it wasnt as quiet as we would have liked. This was not mention on the website or prior to arrival, and no discount or incentive was offered.
The resort has a terrific location...
We were shifted to four different rooms on the first night, before we found one that did not have a mildew smell in the air-conditioning,this was a huge hassle and waste of time on our first night...lack of maintenance...
First of all turned up after a long day traveling to a run down resort and shown 2 rooms that had not been made up and were filthy. So I complained then after 30mins upgraded us to a deluxe room. All seemed well at first until we realized our television was broke and that they had put us in an adjoining room with a young family. Obviously I have no problem with young family's but there were very noisey and after a long day of traveling just wanted to rest. No the Aana resort was far from full so why did they feel the need to put us next to them? Then I complained again and they said they could not do anything else for us. So fuming I asked to speak with the manager which the receptionist did not like one bit. So eventually the manager turned up very sorry and apologetic and gave us an upgrade to a deluxe pool with complimentary 3course meal which we had to pay taxes on after haha pure comical. How anybody would want to stay at this place is beyond me. You have been warned.
Comfortable rooms, nice pool, good environment, very romantic hotel
For backpackers, the hotel is too far away from downtown,WiFi is very expensive
pool and canal to the beach .
